Cheryl's Story: Giving with Appreciation

My name is Cheryl. I am 36 years old and I have been coming and eating at One World Cuisine Restaurant often for the past few months. I am very grateful for this and thank you so much for your beautiful hearts and generous souls. Just before I tell you some of my story, please know that when you closed for two weeks recently I really missed you guys. I love coming to the restaurant, not just for the food, but also for the atmosphere - it is friendly and so loving and kind. I feel right at home and always welcome.

Since coming to One World I have been able to change my life for the better and the lives of others. It is having a good ripple effect on my spiritual journey also. I was a chronic smoker for 20 years or more and I really did not mind a big slab of chops and steak, though I also ate vegetables and tried to eat as well as possible. The good news now is that I quit the cigarettes and the meat. How did it change me? Well, I suffered from depression and mood disorders for many years and that nearly led me to suicide. Thank God it never came to that. I turned to meditation, God and prayers and found these most beneficial and I think I actually know it is why I am still with us! Anyhow, with the support of the One World Cuisine Restaurant I started to notice great shifts in my energy levels. I began to get dramatically better. As I no longer smoked nor ate red meat, and loving myself unconditionally - as does God - great and wonderful things have been happening in my life. Now that I am feeling better, I am lighter and my thinking is positive. I do not feel so overwhelmed and tired (or grumpy). My whole life has improved and so has my whole spirit and vitality. To get to this point I feel that God has had a hand in it.

Oner night While I slept I felt that I had been woken with a strong intuitive urge that pushed me to turn on the television. The program that appeared was one on Life International, an organisation devoted to helping feed Africans who are in dire poverty. I thought that perhaps God wanted me to acknowledge my blessings and to see how lucky I truly was. I also felt that perhaps I should give a little money to help out God's people on God's mission. As I am unemployed at the moment, I have had little to spare - yet still I felt rich. Fortunately I expected backpay for money owing me and so each week I have given all I can to help out this worthwhile cause. So far I have donated close to $1,000, especially now that I can eat at One World. At the beginning it was hard because I was not always certain about my finances nor where my meals might be coming from. I contributed all my food money to Africa through the Life Foundation as each dollar had a ten-fold impact; each dollar translated into ten dollars worth of food in Africa. For $10,000 worth of food, which is what my contribution equated to, it would be possible to feed a whole tribe for almost a year and provide essential vitamins and medical support.

So, thank you One World for feeding little me and my son. As a result of your help, I am able to save many lives in Africa. Isn't the Creator a genius! Thank you One World for your beautiful love - we are all benefiting and lives are being saved besides my own. I feel love and peace.
