About Us
One World Cuisine opened its doors in May, 2007. Our idea is to promote the most healthy and compassionate vegetarian diet, saving animals' lives, our environment and promoing a healthier lifestyle. Our commitment to the highest quality and most tasty vegan dishes using the freshest and best ingredients has developed an enthusiastic following.
Along the way, it was decided to reach out to students in universities and the public through shopping centres and fairs. One World Cuisine now supplies Murdoch University and businesses with fresh and tasty vegan cuisine and on occasions free meals are given to the public, as well as vouchers for free meals to the students. Currently other projects are being planned, including cooking lessons and distributing recipes via email and printouts to demonstrate how easy it is to change our diet for the better.
Because of the present climate change emergency of Australia and the world as a result of global warming, we feel the urgency in doing something to assist humanity in reducing greenhouse gases. After careful financial consideration it was initially decided to go "free", i.e. to offer complimentary meals without any charge. This unusual step received quite a lot of publicity. The restaurant featured in the "home" section of the West Australian newspaper and the Sunday Times and staff were interviewed on Channel Seven's "Today Tonight". The restaurant received lots of queries as a result of this publicity. Also several local papers featured the restaurant in its stories. Towards the end of July 2008, the restaurant was featured in two video presentations over 16 international satellites and the internet on SupremeMaster TV.
We hope that others will open more vegetarian restaurants around Australia. There have been enquiries from other cities about One World Cuisine and hopefully someone will be inspired to open up a vegetarian restaurant with complimentary or "pay as you feel" meals. We believe that instant action is vital; practical action at the local level. Noble thoughts will not save our earth and our lives - practical action is critical right now.

What about the near future? If you click the "Events" link on the main page, you will find that we have started to offer ‘Pay as you Feel’ vegan meals at PAWS in Northbridge, Perth. The details are on the Events page. We are considering expanding to additional premises North of the River - some time in the near future if premises centrally located can be found. Your support helps us to pay for some costs. We thank the public for their kindness. Also, we encourage volunteers to join us in the kitchen or serving customers or any way you can and help us save our animal co-inhabitants and our precious environment! We hope to teach vegetarian cooking at other venues and perhaps volunteers might help members of the public to learn vegetarian cooking from the comfort of their own homes. New ideas are always welcome.
Our hope is that all humanity will eat more vegetarian meals every week, discover the many benefits of the vegetarian diet and feel great! After all, we are ONE WORLD!
